Virginia Nursing Student Convention 2010

Wanna go to the beach? Follow LNSA to the Virginia Nursing Student Convention in January!

You'll have the opportunity to hear from representatives from a number of hospitals and NCLEX review programs. Not to mention, there's a lot of FREE STUFF!

Last year was so much fun, and I'm sure that everyone who went last year will want to go again this year, so if you went, spread the word about how much fun it was!

The weekend is full of fun on the beach.

Talk to LNSA representatives about this amazing weekend opportunity and the chance to get 10 CSER hours. We guarantee a great time, or your money back! Not really, but we do think you'll have a blast ;)

Tailgating

Thanks to everyone who came and tailgated with LNSA! We all had a great time grilling hotdogs and giving out some great snacks to LU students and their parents!
We made sure that this.... patient.... was on a solid foods diet before we gave him a hotdog.

Go President Rachele! Aaay-ooooh!

Even Batman needs nourishment. He didn't have hotdogs and Coke on his batman belt.

Sim Lab

This semester, Junior nursing students are able to practice their skills on Sim Man; a talking, breathing, vomiting, de-saturating manican! What a fun day!

The first part of the clinical scenario begins with a nurse from the last shift giving report.... some things may be left out of report, like in the real world! Roles were divided between RN, CNA, Visitor/Family Member, and Recorder.

Sim Man awaits. In this scenario, Sim Man is on Neutropenic Precautions, and the girls were great with removing the fresh cut flowers from his room!

The whole thing is recorded so it can be reviewed later.

Listening to Sim Man's belly, heart, and lung sounds.

Monitoring his vitals using the monitor:

It wouldn't be Sim Lab without Sim Man going down hill and having to put a call in to the Doctor. Always remember SBARR!

Great job, girls!

ATI Meeting

We know. It's not fun...
But we can be thankful that Liberty prepares us for what's ahead... NCLEX.

We hope everyone learned about what to expect with the upcoming ATI exams.

Study hard, and you'll do great!

Lunch Meeting

Thanks to all for coming to LNSA's meeting!
We are excited to have more 2009-2010 members!
Keep an eye out for more events coming soon.

First Meeting Of The Year!

Welcome back to school Liberty Nursing Students! Your LNSA hopes that your year has started off well!

Juniors: please look forward to attending a Q&A session next Friday at 6:30 pm. We are hoping to be able to give you all more information during your orientation meeting.

We are in the process of planning lots of fun events for everyone. Be on the lookout for sign-up sheets to be part of a Mentorship Program. You can be great mentors for the nursing students that are under you.

Be sure to keep up to date with what's happening both on and off campus this semester! There are lots of fun things coming your way! Tailgating, Bake Sales, T-shirts, and so much more...
Come on in to the nursing department lounge and enjoy the coffee and snacks that will be there for all of your glucose needs (donations appreciated to keep the goodies commin').

Want to be a member of LNSA? Of course you do! Get a membership card, update your resume with "nursing student association member", and impress your future employers!
